English Baskethilt early 17th C.

Starting at: $480.00

This style of English baskethilt is seen starting around 1600. They varied somewhat in the style of saltire that filled in the guard, and most had the hollow round pommel, though some were quite squat. Ours is fairly generic and make a nice lightweight baskethilt for practice. It is not as tough as our earlier hilt, so care should be taken in choosing this hilt if you tend to take a lot of hard blows to the basket. It comes normally with a practice broadsword (DA4BD) blade, but can be upgraded to a backsword blade (DA4BA) for an additional $40.
This one is pictured with a backsword.
