Steel Bucklers

Our bucklers come in two sizes and gauges to suit your fighting needs.

The first is a high-domed 14" round buckler that is made of 20 ga steel. It is light and fast but will not stand up as well to the rigors of Cut and Thrust play. However, it's great for regular fencing. It comes standard with a single-tube handle.  I have two left!

The second is a 15" round buckler with a low-dome boss that is 18 ga steel. It is much more suited to the Cut and Thrust beatings, and Sir Brian has even used it on the heavy field (it did finally turn into a Pringle but it hasn't failed yet.) It also comes standard with a single-tube handle across the back of the boss.

A third option to make it much more 16th Century is to let us add a "T-bar" handle to the back. It removes the tube handle and adds a plate with thumbrests for much more control over the angle of the buckler. They are $100 each. (The picture shows the T-bar being extraordinarily high off the back of the buckler. We make them much much closer to the buckler now.)
